Staff from the Rocky Raccoon Cafe in Owen Sound hit the road today to represent Grey Bruce.
Chef Robin Pradhan says they’ve been asked to take part in the 2nd annual Ontario Culinary Tourism Summitat the Royal Winter Fair at the CNE Grounds in Toronto.
The event features several celebrity chefs including Toronto’s Jamie Kennedy, preparing food for 500 to 600 people.
Pradhan says they’ll also be feeding the Ministers of Tourism and Agriculture.
He says most of the chefs at the event, including himself, are featured in the Savour Ontario publication.
He’ll be taking with him mushrooms from the Wiarton area, cheese from Markdale, tomatoes from Chatsworth and organic beef from Durham.
Pradhan says without the hard word and dedication of local producers..he and his staff wouldn’t have the honour of attending the event.
He also credits the late David Harper, who started the Hundred Mile Market in Meaford.
