A very timely display at the Chesley Heritage and Woodworking Museum – is reminding us of the sacrifices made for our freedom.
The exhibit – we remember- is a gathering of memorabilia from local veterans and the museums permanent artifacts about their experiences at war.
Pat Carson – spokesperson for the museum says the exhibit has everything from an old scrapbook full of newspaper clippings – right to current newspaper articles about the mission in Afghanistan.
Carson says many local veterans have come forward with their stories and artifacts – although she does not know how many veterans there are in the Chesley area.
The Chesley legion has also donated a few articles to the display.
Carson says one of the highlights is a DVD played called Veterans Remember with interview segments from local veterans.
Carson hopes people will stop by the museum to see the display – watch the dvd – remember and honours those who have fought for our country.
The museum is located on the main street in Chesley and is open weekends until 4 PM.
The display runs until November 29th.
