Two major road projects in Grey and Bruce Counties have seen progress over the last few months.
This year’s work on the Grey Bruce Line between Scone and Chesley is finished.
Bruce County Engineer Brian Knox says the only major things left to do are improvements to the Scone intersection and applying new hot mix asphalt to the entire 26 kilometre route.
As for hopes of improving the intersection with Highway 21 at Alvanley — Knox says they’re still talking with the Ministry of Transportation.
But he believes they’re close to selecting a consultant for the project.
Once finished, the Grey-Bruce Line will complete a full highway route stretching from Tobermory in the north, to Clifford in the south.
Major improvements have also been made to Bruce Road 3 between Highway 9 and Mildmay over the past few months.
Knox says the Highways Department thought it was best to lay down most of the recycled asphalt base and new pavement in the spring of 2010.
He says they have paved the hill north of Mildmay and a stretch passing several houses — but the rest will remain gravel until next year.
