Grey County OPP have now laid charged in connection with an incident in Markdale last Friday.
Police say a vehicle left Toronto Street near George and drove over the sidewalk and a couple of front lawns before hitting a utility pole and fire hydrant.
The vehicle then veered back on the road and continued on its way.
Investigators say as the result of media coverage about the damaged vehicle… officers were able to lay charges.
A 56 year old man from Grey Highlands has been charged with failing to report a collision.
