Wasaga Beach’s mayor wants to wear another hat.
Cal Patterson is running again this year for Warden of Simcoe County.
If he’s elected he would still be mayor of Wasaga.
Patterson tells us he only lost last year by one vote and it’s hard to know how the vote will go this time around.
He says last year a few county councillors told him they would vote for him and then didn’t.
Patterson says with all the negative publicity this year over how the county handled the site 41 issue, the best way to change the county’s image is by changing the leadership.
He tells us the other 31 county councillors will vote by secret ballot near the end of the first week of December.
Last year Patterson was beat by incumbent Tony Guergis who won for a third term.
