A 49 year old Mount Forest man faces charges in connection with an assault in the town.
Just after 11 PM last night — Wellington OPP were called to a home on Egremont street in Mount Forest on a report of an assault.
The witness told police a man was punching another man in the head and then had pulled a knife on the victim.
When the witness tried to intervene, the suspect threatened him with the knife.
OPP found the 51 year old victim who told them he had been jumped by a former roommate and punched in the head.
The victim was treated at Louise Marshall Hospital in Mount Forest for cuts.
The suspect was located a short while later at his home and arrested.
The 49 year old Mount Forest man faces charges of Assault with a Weapon, Utter Threats and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose under the Criminal Code of Canada.
