Green will be the colour of choice this weekend in Saugeen Shores.
The Community Foundation Grey Bruce is hosting the Go Green in Saugeen environmental forum at the CAW Family Conference Centre.
Donor Relations Co-ordinator, Roberta Brignell says the idea is to bring information and new initiatives on the environment to residents.
The event begins with a Youth Forum Day today at Saugeen District Secondary School.
There will also be a 100 mile diet buffet tonight at the CAW Centre with keynote speaker Simon Jackson — the creator of the Spirit Bear Youth Coalition.
Brignell says the meal will only feature locally grown food as well as information on how to understand food labels and where to find your local food.
Saturday has a full roster of events from 9 AM to 5 PM at the CAW Centre.
ReTronic Recycling Solutions of Orillia will be onsite to collect e-waste from anyone who wants to drop off electronics — from computers to scanners to TV’s to cellphones — and you don’t have to attend the conference.
Brignell say there is also a trade show where you can learn about a particular issue and contractors and other people will be onsite to give further advice.
Bayshore Broadcasting is a proud partner in this event.
Tickets are 50 dollars for Friday’s event and 20 dollars on Saturday — and they are available online at www.communityfoundationgreybruce.com
