Syrup sure is sweet for one Meaford resident.
Meredith Cowan was the big winner in the first ever Meaford Dragon’s Den competition at the Meaford Hall last night.
Cowan took home over four thousand dollars in Dragon money for her proposed locally made product — Merediths Ginger Syrup.
She also receives a 10 thousand dollar interest free loan for three years and free membership to the Meaford and District Chamber of Commerce.
Tanya Vesely of Meaford also received 15 hundred dollars for her venture called the Travellin’ Scrapper — dedicated to selling supplies and teaching the art of scrap booking.
Chantelle Boyes of Meaford also won a thousand dollars for her “Down to Earth Daycare” — a childcare facility that will be eco-friendly.
The top three cash winners also walked away with a free business bank account, business plan assistance and mentoring package, and online advertising and marketing campaigns.
