No waste management master plan for the Hanover Walkerton Landfill site.
The Hanover Walkerton Landfill Committee has rejected the request by Brockton Council to undertake the study.
Hanover Councillor and Landfill Committee Member Peter Hambly says it would have been a waste of taxpayer money.
He says a similar 13 thousand dollar study was conducted in 2007 as part of the environmental assessment of the landfill expansion project.
Hambly says the study served as a great engineer blueprint document to increase recycling efforts and reduce waste.
He adds Hanover and Brockton have already implemented many of the recommendations including — bag tags, the banning of e-waste and the creation of a Styrofoam depots.
The study also recommended the switch to clear garbage bags.
Hanover is making the switch next July and Brockton is looking at a similar move.
Brockton had hoped that a new Waste Management Master Plan would help Hanover and Walkerton drastically increase their waste diversion rate from the current 35 per cent to 80 per cent.
Meanwhile an application to expand the landfill site is before the province for approval.
