The new security cameras at Hanover’s Heritage Square Park are paying off.
Since the installation of the cameras last summer — vandalism has drastically dropped.
Councillor Bob White notes the cameras are on 24 hours a day — so if something goes down in the park, police can take a look at it.
White doesn’t understand why someone would want to vandalize the picturesque civic park in the first place.
Meanwhile Hanovers Royal Canadian Legion is dealing with its own vandalism.
Last Friday — vandals kicked in all of the lattice around the deck on the south end of the Legion.
This is not the first time the Legion has been targeted by vandals.
White calls the act senseless.
Anyone with information about this incident should call police.
