A huge Infrastructure cheque is coming to Hanover to help pay for sanitary sewer upgrades along 7th and 8th Avenue.
Sanitary systems will be provided to any remaining properties on those streets that currently are without water services.
Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP Larry Miller, announced Friday the Federal and provincial governments will invest a total of 3.1 million dollars in the project.
Miller says “we are getting shovels in the ground here in Hanover and getting the economy moving”.
The Conservative MP says Investing in this project will create jobs now and help stimulate our local economy.
The announcement builds on the projects already announced across the region this year.
Canada and Ontario are investing in infrastructure through the Building Canada Fund with the governments of Canada and Ontario contributing two-thirds of the total eligible costs.
In total, the two governments are investing nearly 11 billion dollars in 26 hundred projects across Ontario.
