The Bruce Grey Catholic School Board is hosting the second annual Diocesan Celebration of Catholic Education.
It takes place today at Formosa’s Immaculate Conception Church.
Over 400 educators from the seven Catholic school boards within the Hamilton Diocese are participating in today’s celebration.
The theme for this years celebration is Catholic Education – Embracing the Treasure.
The keynote speaker is Doctor Mark McGowan — a renowned historian, and Principal of St. Michael’s College, University of Toronto.
Community Relations Co-ordinator Doreen Rogers says the event will serve as a type of spiritual professional development day.
She adds it is also a great networking opportunity for the seven school boards.
The celebration will wrap up with a Mass at 6:30 PM.
The Mass is opened to the public to attend.
Rogers calls it quite an honour for the Bruce Grey Catholic Board to host such a large event.
