The co-founder of Free the Children is in Owen Sound today/
Marc Keilburger and his brother Craig, set up the organization in 1995 and it has become the world’s leading youth-driven charity.
Keilburger tells Bayshore Broadcasting News with the involvement of more than one thousand Youth in Action groups, they have built over 500 schools in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Thru its’ “Adopt a Village” development model, the group has established over 23 thousand alternative income projects to assist women and the families to achieve sustainable incomes.
Free the Children is also involved in a joint project with Oprah Winfrey that is designed to educate and inspire more than one million young people across North America to become socially enganged and help children overseas.
Keilburger has co-authored several books and his latest was inspired by his meeting with the Dalai Lama.
