Despite earlier opposition from neighbours — the Hanover Habitat For Humanity Project is moving forward.
Director of Construction Operations Alan MacDonald says the land has been purchased, an engineering firm has been hired and legal counsel has been retained.
Habitat for Humanity wants to build four semi detached homes that will house eight low income families in Hanover.
But the proposed two storey condominium style project is not sitting well with some neighbours who argue the project is too big.
They also object to the fact it involves infilling a large green space.
MacDonald brought a scale model of the project to Hanover Council to show the density of the project in relation to the existing homes.
He believes the visual helped alleviate councillor concerns about the projects size.
MacDonald says Habitat for Humanity plans to sit down with neighbours soon to help reach some common ground.
The proposed project will take place on a large green space in the middle of a block — located on 14th Street between 10th and 11th Avenue.
