A warning from Owen Sound Fire department following a basement fire.
Don’t put lamps close to anything flamable.
This after a incandescent light came in contact with a futon in the basement of a house in the 13 hundred block of 3rd Avenue East in Owen Sound on Saturday.
The hot lamp sparked a fire that was contained in the basement and caused about 10 thousand dollars damage.
The home was not occupied at the time.
Fire officials remind people that incandescent light bulbs are extremely hot and can easily start a fire if not used properly.
