An interesting RIDE check in Owen Sound Friday night.
A 25 year old Meaford area man got more than he bargained for while driving into the spotcheck in the 1100 block of 2nd Avenue East.
As the vehicle entered the R.I.D.E. lane the officers had difficulty seeing the interior of the vehicle due to a billowy white cloud of smoke coming from within the truck cab.
The smoke was partially obscuring the occupants.
When the window was lowered a small way the officers could detect an extremely strong odour of freshly burnt marihuana coming from the interior of the vehicle.
In addition, a DVD copy of Cheech and Chong’s ”UP IN SMOKE” was sticking out from above the drivers sun visor.
Subsequently Police located a small quantity of freshly harvested marihuana along with some drug paraphernalia within the vehicle which lead to an upcoming court date for the driver on charges of possession of marihuana.
