Simon Jackson believes in “the power of one.”
Jackson is the keynote speaker at the upcoming “Go Green at Saugeen” Environmental Forum this month.
Jackson tells Bayshore Bvroadcasting News his interest in the environment started in ernest at the age of 13, when the British Columbia native went on a campaign to save the Spirit Bear.
Today his cause, through the Spirit Bear Youth Coalition has a lot of high profile support and Hollywood is in the process of making an animated movie along the lines of The Lion King, call The Spirit Bear.
It’s due for worldwide release in the near future.
Jackson says he’s a great believer in the power of youth and the type of attitude they can bring to the environmental issues that face us today.
Jackson who will speak to the Environmental Youth Forum at SDSS on Friday, October 23rd, says young people are well suited to take on environmental issues and reframe them in a new way to bring everyone together to find a solution.
He says his talk to young people will have bring home one message.
Jackson says he points out to youth that he is not different.
Every single person he speaks to can do the exact same thing if they really believe in a cause.
After Jackson’s day long sessions in the schools, he will be the keynote speaker at the Environmental Forum’s Friday night 100 mile buffet dinner, being held as part of a 2-day event at the CAW education centre.
The forum goes Friday and Saturday, October 23rd and 24th and is open to all.
