MPP’s from across the province will be getting a taste of the Grey Bruce region this evening.
Its the second annual Queen’s Park Plate and the owner of the Rocky Raccoon Cafe in Owen Sound has been invited to cook.
Robin Pradhan is in Toronto today to help feed more than 200 M-P-P’s, Mayors and environmental and food advocates in an effort to promote the benefits of eating locally produced food.
He’s one of a dozen representatives from restaurants, breweries and wineries around the province who have been invited to take part in the gastronomic tour of the ‘Greenbelt’ of Ontario.
Pradhan says he’ll be making dumplings from Nepal with ground lamb from Kemble, beef from Kilsyth as well as locally produced mushrooms and cheese.
He says he’ll take the message to the Legislature that Grey Bruce is at the forefront of the movement to ‘eat local’ with dozens of producers promoting everything from cheese to honey to meat.
Anne Finlay Stewart, owner of Around the Sound market in Owen Sound, will be accompanying Pradhan and his crew to the event.
