Progress is being made towards a new fire hall in Lucknow.
Huron-Kinloss Council has passed the deeming by-law required for where the new fire hall will be located on Campbell Street.
Mayor Mitch Twolan says the drawings of the new facility and the building ‘envelope’ itself are complete, and the next step is for the project to go to tender.
As for concerns about water drainage on the site, Twolan says those will also be addressed during the tendering process.
He says construction will start once a tender is accepted.
In June, Ashfield-Colborne Wawanosh received 700 thousand dollars in Infrastructure Stimulus funding for the new fire hall.
Huron-Kinloss and Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh share ownership and operation of the Lucknow and District Fire Department.
