A member of Wiartons business community was laid to rest today.
A funeral was held in Wiarton for Ted Wilford — the owner of Outback tackle and longtime friend of the angling and hunting fraternity.
Wilford is well known on the Bruce Peninsula and was an ardent supporter of the Sportsmen’s Association.
His spare time was devoted to making improvements to the fish habitat in the Rankin River system which includes Sky, Boat and Isaac Lakes as well as the Sauble River.
Donations in Wilford’s name can be made to the Bruce Peninsula Sportsmens Association, the Rankin Resource Group or the Wiarton Hospital foundation.
So the next time you catch a fish on the Bruce Peninsula tip your hat to Ted Wilford.
