It looks like an elderly couple injured in an explosion in Sauble Beach will be okay.
Bruce Peninsula OPP say the 81 year old husband was scheduled to be released from hospital this morning while his 78 year old wife remains in hospital in serious but stable condition.
Police have identified them as 81 year old William Synnott of Guelph and his wife, 78 year old Margaret Synnott.
The pair avoided the brunt of the blast at their mobile home in the Sauble Beach Resort Camp around 5:30 PM Monday — but still suffered burns.
Their 30 foot long house trailer was completely levelled while a nearby mobile home was damaged by debris.
The Town of South Bruce Peninsula Volunteer Fire Department extinguished the blaze.
Some debris from the mobile home caused damage to an adjoining trailer.
A Fire Marshall investigator has been notified to help determine the cause of the explosion and fire.
There were a number of power outages in the area due to high winds and rain.
The Technical Standards Safety Authority has also been notified since the explosion could be gas related.
The investigation continues.
