No changes in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.
Experts in municipal procedures, Nigel Bellchamber and Fred Dean brought forward 4 suggestions to help council become more productive.
The first one suggests council and staff participate in a full day training session on components of effective meetings no later than October 1st.
CAO Malcolm McIntosh says at this time council has taken no action.
During last Tuesday’s council meeting the contents of a report from McIntosh outlining how the recommendations could be addressed were only noted and filed.
McIntosh says he is preparing another detailed report for council on the outstanding issues from the review.
He says he believes the councillors are still giving the suggestions consideration.
McIntosh says the review was very beneficial for council and staff.
He says it cleared the air on a lot of issues there may have been some misunderstanding or confusion on.
The other recommendations are to conduct a thorough review of the procedural by-law, that a new treasurer be appointed and an outside coach be brought in to monitor and advise council.
Bellchamber and Dean gave their presentation at the September 1st Committee of the Whole meeting after being hired the town.
Their report is a separate issue from the recent interviews the Ombudsman office conducted with council after hiring policies were overrode.
