Municipal Officials in Kincardine are optimistic construction will start again on a half-built hotel.
Worked ceased early this year on the new Days Inn at the corner of Highways 21 and 9.
Kincardine Building and Planning Manager Michele Barr cannot say why work stopped at the site.
Attempts by Bayshore Broadcasting News to contact Gord Harris of DHC Developments have been unsuccessful.
Barr however is hopeful that the construction will eventually carry on and the development will be completed.
She says they’d like to see the busy corner appear like action is taking place and that work is being done.
The multi-story hotel building’s exterior is mostly complete, with the outside covered with styrofoam insulation. The roof is not fully finished.
As for concerns that the site could become a property standards issue, Barr says that hasn’t been a concern so far, and that the municipality is very hopeful the project starts to move forward again in the very near future.
