Almost 100 years after opening near the corner of 2nd Avenue East and 9th Street East in Owen Sound — Coates and Best is moving down the street.
Owner David Hanson says he has bought the former Shoppers Drug Mart location on 2nd Avenue East close to 10th Street East.
Hanson says the office supply, equipment, business furniture and books store needs more space.
The new location will allow the company to grow in size by one-third and will also put the whole operation on one floor instead of two.
Hanson says Coates and Best actually dates back to the 1850’s in Owen Sound and has always been a business supply company.
It opened in the current location in 1910.
Renovations will take place over the next 6 weeks and Hanson hopes to be open at the new, bigger location in Owen Sound for the first week of November.
