Grey County will need a new warden to start off 2010, and Arlene Wright thinks she has the qualifications to take over.
Current Warden Kevin Eccles has decided not to let his name stand for re-election at county council.
Wright is a second-term Owen Sound Councillor who also has sat on County Council for three years.
She says with her background at the municipal level, as well as 16 years with the Grey county board of education — she is experienced.
So far, Arlene Wright is the only declared candidate for the position of Warden in Grey.
Owen Sound rejoined the county in 2001 and the City councillor hopes to improve relations between the city and county.
A new warden will be elected at County Council in December.
