A Grey Highlands man has suffered serious injuries after his own dog attacked him.
Grey County OPP were called to a Singhampton home yesterday afternoon with a report that a man had been savagely attacked by his 4 year old pitbull — and that the animal was still roaming around the property.
Police say the man and his fiancee were outside with the dog when it attacked for reportedly ‘no apparent reason’.
A friend inside the house ran out with several kitchen knives and the dog was stabbed in an effort to subdue the animal.
The couple were finally able to call 9-1-1.
Police say they were forced to shoot the pitbull when they arrived.
A 26 year old man was taken to Collingwood’s hospital with severe injuries — but was scheduled to be transported to Sunnybrook hospital in Toronto last night.
