A public meeting is planned for this tonight in Woodford, as Meaford council gets feedback on Library use by the residents.
Currently, Meaford pays 104 thousand dollars a year to Owen Sound, so that residents of the former Sydenham township have access to the Union Libary in the City.
The 10 year agreement runs until 2012, but Mayor Francis Richardson says the town decided to get feedback from residents now, before extending the contract.
Richardson says all of council should be on hand Wednesday night in the Woodford Hall at 7 PM.
It all stems from a call at a recent council meeting to let ratepayers have more of a say on the issue, then just a few minutes in a regular council session.
Richardson says he doesn’t want people to come to the meeting trying to tell others what they can or cannot have in the way of library service.
He wants to hear what people will use, whether it is more use of the Owen Sound service or more of the Meaford library.
