The Town of Meaford will be represented at the 2010 Winter Olympics by Dr Kevin Hooper.
Hooper, a chiropractor with an extensive background in treating sports injuries, is one of just 22 professionals selected to the Medical team.
The application process was a lengthy one and Hooper admits he got nervous as days passed and some appointments were made.
Hooper states he was elated when he received his notice that he had been selected for the team.
During the Olympic Games, Hooper will be one of 6 chiropractors working in the Olympic Village at Vancouver and will be responsible for treating athletes from around the world.
Hooper states the sports and the type of injuries he’ll be treating are varied, but with his own background and experience, which ranges from hockey to track & field to soccer and beyond, he’s confident he can deliver successful treatment to world class athletes.
Truthfully Hooper concedes the Olympic Games can’t get here fast enough and he’d depart tomorrow for the Games if need be.
