The call is out for an outstanding individual who has gone above and beyond in protecting and preserving the environment in Grey and Bruce.
Bayshore Broadcasting and the Community Foundation Grey Bruce have partnered to set up the Malcolm Kirk Award for the environment.
Bayshore General Manager Ross Kentner says Kirk has been instrumental in preserving and setting aside vast tracts of land in the two counties for conservation and nature reserves.
He says some of his accomplishments include Hibou Conservation area, Blacks Park, the Feaversham Gorge and areas like Dorcas Bay and Petril Point on the Bruce Peninsula.
He says this award will be on way to honour and recognize the efforts of one individual who has made a difference in looking after the environment in the two counties.
Community Foundation Grey Bruce spokesperson Roberta Brignell says the deadline for submitting nominations is September 15th and the award will be presented at the Go Green in Saugeen Environmental Fourm in late October.
That form will take place October 24th and 25 at the CAW centre in Port Elgin.
