Collingwood’s Hospital is getting 231 thousand dollars from the government for geothermal heating for its new portable administration centre.
Progressive Conservative MP Helena Guergis made the announcement Wednesday at the Mad River Golf Club in Creemore, where the hospital’s Foundation was holding its annual fundraiser.
General and Marine Hospital Board of Trustees Chair Don Smith says the geothermal system means the building will be more efficient.
That new building will house administrative offices, and will be placed on a former woodlot behind the hospital, clearcut earlier this year.
