Walkerton will be getting a new doctor — the second new family physician in the area in the last month.
Doctor Ziad Al Qaseer will be arriving in Walkerton this November.
He will spend a day and a half a week serving the Paisley community and the rest of his time practicing in Walkerton.
Along with his family practice — Doctor Al Qaseer will also serve as an E-R doctor in the Walkerton hospital’s Emergency Department.
Mayor Charlie Bagnato is thrilled with the news and credits the Brockton and Area Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee for the signing.
Doctor Al Quaseer was born in Iraq, and is now a Canadian citizen.
He has worked the last 20 years in the GTA and is currently based in Milton.
Doctor Al Quaseer’s office will be located in the Walkerton Hospital as well as the Paisley Medical Clinic.
Earlier this month — Doctor Shazia Ambreen began her practice in Brockton.
She used to work in South Bruce Peninsula before resigning last Winter after a conflict with the Sauble Family Health Team.
