Celebrating labour on a special day.
Port Elgin will host a Labour Day parade today, followed by a family fun day at the CAW centre.
The President of the Grey Bruce Labour Council, Dave Trumble says he’s expecting a good turnout for this year’s Labour Day parade, and the weather is being cooperative.
Trumble says participants can gather at the Home Hardware parking lot anytime after 9:30 AM.
The parade is scheduled to begin at 11 AM and make its way south on Goderich Street to Pierson Avenue where the parade will proceed to the soccer fields and break up.
Trumble says the day doesn’t end there.
The CAW Centre will be hosting another edition of Family Fun Day with plenty of food, games along with a couple of speeches and displays.
Trumble says if you want the full impact of the activities at the CAW Centre, you should be there at 1 PM.
Organizers will try to end everything by 3 or 3:30 PM, so families have plenty of time to get home and get geared for a school day the next day.
