A resident in Kincardine says the municipality has to stop holding special days where waste can be dropped off at landfill sites free of charge.
Carol Blake says the rules are often abused and nobody bothers to sort their waste before leaving it.
She says everyone who comes to the landfill should have already separated and sorted the items and nothing should end up in what she calls “the hole.”
Blake says the free day makes landfill users impatient and the municipality doesn’t provide enough staff to make sure waste is put in the proper places.
She recently visited the landfill site and says she saw the compost area covered in plastic water bottles.
