The Ontario Trillium Foundation is throwing its support behind this weekend’s North Western Rural Cup Fastball Challenge.
The host Owen Sound Fast Pitch Association has received a 61 hundred dollar Trillium grant.
The Association is using the money with the Grey Bruce Peninsula Mens Fastball League to hold fast pitch clinics for local youth this weekend.
The clinics are being held for hundreds of youth as part of the weekend tournament which wraps up tomorrow at Duncan McLellan Park.
In announcing the funding — Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP Bill Murdoch says sports is a great way to teach kids teamwork and positive community participation.
