The Bruce County Plowmen’s Association held another successful Plowing Match Friday September 4th near Chepstow.
This year’s host farmer was Pat Murray who farms on Greenock Sideroad 5 between Greenock and Chepstow.
A total of 39 Plowing Competitors were on hand participating the Antique, Horse, Conventional and Reversible Tractor and 4-H Classes.
A variety of other special Plowing Events were also held.

Class 1: Horse Plows (under 18): Brendon Gilbert
Class 2: Horse – Jointer Plows: results not available at this time
Class 3: Horse – Sulky Plows: Jim Thomas
Class 4: Tractor – Open, Under 15 yrs: Allison Davenport; Reserve: Austin Davenport
Class 5: Tractor – Bruce County residents under 15 years: Nick Young; Reserve: Tony Leeming
Class 6: Tractor – Bruce County, 16 years of age and over: Amy Ribey; Reserve: MacKenzie Reinhart
Class 7: IPM Open 2 Furrow: Paul Dodds; Reserve: Brandon McGavin
Class 11: Reversible/ Roll Over Plows: Tom Evans; Reserve: John Gillespie
Class 12: Antique Mounted Plows: Don Nunnikhoven; Reserve Doug MacRobbie
Class 13: Bruce County Queen of the Furrow Competition – Queen of the Furrow Tammy Fischer; 1st Runner Up Janette Hammell; also competing Ashton Colvin and Shelley Lang.
Class 14: FCC Media Challenge Award: Stephanie Lowe, Summer Cruiser Reporter Country 93
Class 15: Ambassador Plowing – open to Fall Fair and visiting Queen of the Furrow Ambassadors: Camille Black, North Grey Plowmen’s Association Queen of the Furrow
Class 16: Mayors, Members of Council and VIP: Stan Hoath, Municipality of South Bruce Peninsula
Visitors to the Plowing Match were also kept busy visiting a large number of exhibitors who displayed farm equipment, offered information and lifestyle products to farmers and their families.
The Bruce County Plowmen’s Association wish to express their appreciation for the businesses and individuals who participated in this year’s Plowing Match.
Award Presentations and the Annual Meeting will be held Saturday October 24th at the Royal Canadian Legion in Tara.
Tickets include a meal and awards presentation with a meeting to follow.
