Every child in the region will head back to school on Tuesday with school supplies thanks to residents in Bruce and Grey.
The United Way of Bruce Grey has reached its goal to supply 1690 students back to school with the supplies they need they otherwise could not afford.
A total of 590 packages of crayons, 898 duotangs, 1143 pens, 1283 spiral notebooks, 1413 binders, 1690 erasers, pencils, rulers and backpacks were bought at a cost of 35 thousand dollars.
The campaign struggled until the end of August, when Bruce Power in Tiverton stepped up and donated 15 thousand dollars to make sure the goal was met.
The United Way thanks those who helped out in anyway from holding fundraisers to hauling supplies out to the various familes in need to the many volunteers that assembled the backpacks.
