One man is dead and another man is fighting for his life in hospital after a single vehicle crash near Wiarton.
Bruce Peninsula OPP were called to a crash on Wright’s Crescent, northeast of Wiarton around 7:14 PM Monday.
Officers found a van ran off the road and hit a tree and there were two people trapped inside.
Firefighters rescued the men from the vehicle — but the driver, 33 year old Michael Cabana of St. Catherine’s, died at the scene.
A passenger in the car — 19 year old Evan Jones of Cape Croker — was airlifted to a Toronto hospital and is listed in critical condition.
Wright’s Crescent was closed to traffic for several hours while Technical OPP Collision investigators looked at the scene.
Preliminary findings indicate no seatbelts were used.
Police say the conditions at the time were also ideal.
The investigation continues.
