A public meeting is set for tonight for a proposed new subdivision in the southwest part of Owen Sound.
The 23 acre site is owned by Thom Construction and includes 60 single detached homes.
It’s intended to connect two neighbouring subdivisions — one to the north and one to the south — with an extension of 6th Avenue West.
It is also intended that a new intersection be constructed to connect the subdivision to 4th Avenue West.
Owen Sound Mayor Ruth Lovell Stanners calls the planned development a good news story for the city.
Area residents are being assured the development will in no way affect Blacks Park to the north.
The public meeting is set for tonight’s City Council meeting.
