Collingwood’s hospital is off the hook for clearcutting its woodlot.
Town CAO Gord Norris says no charges will be laid against the hospital for clearcutting trees on its property without permits or permission back in February.
The town and hospital officials had been meeting regularly since then to work out an agreement.
Norris says there is now a proposed site plan for the hospital to put up a new building on the clearcut land and plant more trees as a buffer around it.
The hospital has said the building will house administrative staff to make more room for patients in the emergency room and operating rooms.
