The Canadian Foodgrains bank wants you to see some antiques – to help cure hunger.
Carol Leibold is a member of the national group that raises funds and grains to send to Africa – to help cure hunger.
The group is holding the Antique Extravaganza and Norwegian Fjord Horses this Saturday at the farm of John and Eunice Bosomworth in the Ayton area.
The show will feature the family’s collection of over 100 antique John Deere tractors, implements, classic cars, gas engines, antiques signs — as well as their Norwegian Fjord horses.
Leibold says admission to the show is by donation only – tax receipts given for ten dollars or more.
All proceeds go directly to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.
For every dollar donated — the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) will give four dollars to the cause.
Leibold adds there will also be lots of food – 80 homemade pies – sausage on a bun, hot dogs and more – all having been donated by the community.
There will also be local musicians performing.
The event happens Saturday from 10 AM till 5 PM at Concession six in West Grey there will be signs marking the way.
They held a similar fundraiser three years ago and about a thousand people signed the guest book.
