Both communities on the Bruce Peninsula are talking about garbage today and extending the life of their landfills.
Northern Bruce Peninsula is holding an open house in the Council Chambers from 1 PM to 4 PM to talk about its waste management and diversion initiative.
Council wants the community to join forces to recycle more to extend the life of the municipal landfill.
There is also a public meeting in South Bruce Peninsula tonight to talk about proposed changes to the garbage bylaw.
One rule is to penalize a homeowner and not take their trash away if recyclables are mixed in the bag with regular garbage.
There would also be hefty fines for illegal dumping.
That meeting begins at 7 PM at the Amabel Sauble Community School.
