Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty has spoken with the family of an 11-year-old boy killed Thursday by a tornado.
McGuinty offered his condolences to the family of Owen McPherson while touring damaged areas in the town of Durham Sunday.
West Grey police chief Rene Berger read a statement from McPherson’s family in Ayton.
McGuinty offered reassurances that government aid programs are available to assist residents affected by the storm.
The damage estimated from Thursday’s tornado in Durham alone is between 7.5 million and 9 million dollars.
