Hanover is heading to the AMO Conference in Ottawa this week with high hopes.
The town is meeting with Ministry of Health officials to discuss Hanovers need for a Family Health Team.
Mayor Kathi Maskell says Hanover missed out on the last round of Family Health Team funding and doesn’t want history to be repeated.
She says Hanover has everything in place all thats needed now is the money.
Two years ago Hanover was informed by the Ministry of Health that it was well placed to receive the Family Health Team designation during the next round of funding which is taking place soon.
Maskell says Hanover is prepared and hopes the town will make the cut this time around.
Family Health Teams are made up of doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, mental health workers and other health care professionals.
They provide medical access to orphan patients who are without a family doctor.
