Owen Sound’s Billy Bishop Airport is about to get a rather large visitor.
A Canadian Forces Hercules search and rescue aircraft will be landing at the airport around noon today to take part in a military training exercise.
Airport Manager Barry Lewin says the plane will be involved in a training exercise for search and rescue technicians.
He says the large four engine plane will be making low level passes over the airport to allow the SAR Techs to make parachute jumps to the airport runway.
Lewin says the Sar Techs also could be doing some training jumps out over the water as well.
He says once the exercise has been completed, the aircraft and its crew will return to CFB Trenton around 3 PM.
