The clean up is underway just outside of Owen Sound after what appears to have been a tornado touch down just west of Rockford.
The storm caused a considerable amount of damage at Grey Roots Museum and Archives.
A turn of the century wagon that was infront of the Museum ended up in a neighbour’s cornfield.
Some of the fencing and roof shingles were also damaged.
John Willock says he was having supper when the howling winds roared through his property near the Town and Country Nursery.
He says several trees were knocked down, one of which hit the side of his house and a heavy patio table was tossed into his neighbours yard.
Willock says another neighbour’s wooden gazebo was totally destroyed and its just a pile of lumber this morning and a wooden fence was uprooted and tossed into another neighbours swimming pool.
He says the whole area looks like a war zone with all the damage and downed trees.
Willock says the dominate sound this morning is that of chain saws being used to cut up the downed trees.
He says he experienced a tornado once before while living in Cambridge and this was a very similar occurrence.
