Federal Green Party leader Elizabeth May thinks we are headed for a Fall election, and she wants to know if you like the idea of having her as a member of Parliament for Bruce Grey Owen Sound.
May is taking the pulse of party members in the riding, and of the general public over the next few weeks, before deciding whether to seek the nomination.
Elizabeth May says the Green Party finished a strong second under Dick Hibma, and whether it is her or Hibma running in the next election, Conservative MP Larry Miller should be worried.
The Federal Green Party leader ran against Defence Minister Peter Mackay and lost badly in the last election campaign.
May is in Owen Sound today for an event at Kelso Beach park.
The Green party is sponsoring a meeting on government accountablity and everyone is welcome to attend.
May will outline why she thinks we should have proportional representation, which would mean Green MP’s would have been elected in the last Federal vote.
She feels the current system supports synical politics and accentuates partisanship in government.
The talk by May on making government accountable, begins at 7 PM at Kelso Beach park in Owen Sound.
