It doesn’t look like you’ll be seeing a parade of hundreds of motorcycles through Collingwood next summer.
The Ride For Sight is unlikely to return.
An e-mail has been sent to riders letting them know that organizers are looking for a new venue for the summer of 2010, and that their ‘concerns have been heard’.
The message says the new site will allow participants to enjoy the festival the way they want.
It mentions there will be more free camping available and their favourite activities will be more accessible at the new place.
The new location for the fundraiser for the Foundation Fighting Blindness is expected to be announced in a few weeks.
Ride Chair Mike Harwood could not be reached for comment.
But a few messages on facebook from riders say they were disappointed with the lack of security at the parties which meant people without wristbands could walk right in.
One rider says the participants worked hard to fundraise and it should be a priviledge to be part of the events, not a right.
Another rider says the concerts and other events should have been closer to camping which was at Harbourview Park with overflow behind the Curling Club.
The concerts, one featuring Kim Mitchell, were held at Millenium Park.
The event was held in Collingwood June 19th to 21st, after a five year break from the area.
There were some concerns by people living in Collingwood that the soccer fields at Harbourview Park were messed up by the tire tracks of the bikes, but town officials had said no damage was done.
Meanwhile, the Ride For Sight website is boasting 305,766 dollars was raised, surpassing the goal of 300 thousand dollars.
