There are two new officers with the Owen Sound Police Service.
The two newest officers in Owen Sound graduated Thursday from the Ontario Police College near Aylmer.
Constable Chevonne Martin and Constable Joshua Gurney were actually sworn in on May 5th before leaving for their 12 week course.
They learned the laws and procedures that all front-line officers must know in order to perform their duties.
The officers fill positions recently vacated due to retirements — but they are not new to Owen Sound.
Constable Martin was a data entry clerk with the department and Constable Gurney was an auxiliary officer.
They will now be paired with a Coach Officer who will assist them in gaining practical hands-on experience.
