After almost a month — the first charges have been laid against one of the protestors at Site 41 in Tiny Township.
Southern Georgian Bay OPP have charged 25 year old John Hawke of Christian Island with mischief and intimidation.
Hawke was already in police custody on another matter.
He will appear in Midland court to speak to the charges on October 8th.
A number of other protestors continue to block the landfill despite a temporary injunction to end the blockade.
Constable Peter Leon will only say their investigation is ongoing.
Protestors first started blocking the landfill entrance on July 6th.
