Collingwood’s Ethanol plant is back in operation after a break to see whether it was the source of some foul smells in the town.
The plant’s General Manager says workers went over the operational logs and records and turned up nothing that would indicate a problem.
The plant is now ten days into its startup process and says the Ministry of Environment has accepted its plans to get the plant back up and running.
The plant is now in what it calls the “stabilization phase” and says it’s fine-tuning its operations.
In a release, the company says it will have reached a stable state when targets and quality specifications have been achieved for a continual period of 72 hours.
The MOE is continuing to monitor the area for noise and odour emissions.
